Hay Street Architecture Walk

Hay Street is the main shopping street in Perth’s CBD and was named in honour of Robert William Hay, who was the Under Secretary for the Colonies in the 1830’s. The street was established, along with St George’s Terrace and Murray Street, as one of the main streets of Perth, from the time of settlement in 1829. During the 1970’s, a section of Hay Street was closed and that section became known as the Hay Street Mall.
You can start from either end of Hay Street, with Hay Street Mall being the mid point. If you choose to complete the Hay Street Architecture walk you will have walked approximately 1.7km.
